"Carbon extra..."Carbon utilisation"? "Carbon extraction expert"? This letter has to be the most blatant example of political double-speak and politacal correctness gone wrong yet! What a lot of bovine-produced extracted fertiliser! What really exudes a strongly offensive odour in this letter, is the suggestion that carbon emissions are lessened by chopping down old growth forests. Anyone with at least year 10 science knows that a tree ceases storing carbon/increasing available oxygen once it is chopped down - in addition, when that tree is later pulped and made into paper, the process uses considerable energy (from non-renewable sources in most cases) and releases much more CO2 into the atmosphere. Stating that a tree, if left there, would eventually release carbon and therefore chopping it down is going to help against climate change, is laughable. At least, it would be funny if it were not so sad - sad that such morons have somehow ended up in positions of power.Nimue di Gherdeinanoreply@blogger.com
